Polyurethane-coated glass fabric
Apronor >
Glass fabric is a technical textile that can undergo various treatments, including a polyurethane coating. This increases its technical performance and makes it suitable for specific industrial uses. Depending on its composition, it may be coated on 1 or 2 sides and may also have a stainless steel reinforcement. But no matter which model you choose, you’ll enjoy a heat-resistant product that complies with current standards and is of the highest quality.
Packaged in rolls to simplify installation, transport and storage, our Apronor polyurethane-coated glass fabric is available for the French market and for export. Presented in several versions on our website, it is characterised by its great stability and is suitable for a number of applications, including the manufacture of welding blankets and smoke barriers.
Polyurethane coating for extra protection
Like all our glass fabrics, this one is made from temperature-resistant glass fibre. This natural material has particularly interesting technical properties for industrial applications, because it is :
- non-combustible ;
- insulating ;
- not harmful to human health or toxic to the environment (it contains no asbestos, for example);
- waterproof ;
- soft ;
- flexible ;
- resistant to solvents, vibrations, oils, corrosion, etc.
The fibreglass-based textile is combined with a polyurethane coating, an organic polymer that makes the fibreglass air-tight and makes it more resistant to fraying. This coating increases the fabric’s resistance. When used in the manufacture of protective welding or grinding equipment for goods or people, it slows down the perforation of the textile in the case of incandescent projections and doesn’t aggravate the situation in the case of a fire.
An insulating textile specially made for industrial use
Our polyurethane-coated glass fabric is adapted to sensitive industrial installations and used by French and international companies for the manufacture of :
- welding protection blankets ;
- air diffusion ducts ;
- smoke barriers ;
- tarpaulins classified M0.
Available in several versions – with coating on one or two sides, with or without stainless steel reinforcement – and in different sizes, it can be solution-dyed in a standard colour (grey, for example) or customised for your needs. The fabric can be woven in taffeta or satin, and its thickness can vary from 0.2 to 1.5 mm.
