This is the case of glass fiber mesh, which are perfect for specific industrial applications.
Manufactured from fibreglass, they provide effective protection against high temperatures for materials. These high quality fabrics are non-combustible and designed to withstand tensile strength.
Fibreglass, a high-performance material
Because of its fibreglass composition, glass fiber mesh conforms to very specific quality and performance criteria. This material is :
- natural, non-harmful to health and ecologically pure;
- extremely robust;
- resistant, so it doesn’t rust when it comes into contact with water or humidity, and it doesn’t rot;
- an excellent electrical insulator and fire retardant.
Also, glass fiber mesh is characterised by its lightness (ranging from 57 to 145 g/m²), which makes it easier to handle and install. Packaged in rolls with a width of 1000 mm, it is easy to cut and needs less storage space. It is also available in a range of colours on request, including yellow, red and blue. The number of threads in the warp and weft varies according to the reference.
A high-temperature resistant fabric
Fibreglass is highly durable, has excellent insulating properties, high chemical resistance and can resist high temperatures of up to 600°C without damage. The use of this technical fabric makes it possible to design glass fiber mesh that are resistant to alkalis and classified M0 (non-combustible). As a result, they are adapted to a wide range of applications, in particular :
- the high temperature sector;
- the thermal insulation.
