Glass needle felt is a high-temperature insulating material. Available in 5 thicknesses (from 4 +/- 1 mm to 25 +/- 3) in our Apronor range of technical textiles, it offers excellent performance:
- mechanical ;
- chemical ;
- dielectric.
Made from fibreglass and needled with felt – a method of mechanically interlacing the fibres together – it is suitable for a variety of industrial applications. Thermal insulation, acoustic insulation and fire prevention are good examples. It is also packaged in rolls for easier handling and storage. Recognised for its lightness, soft touch and flexibility, it adapts perfectly to a number of different shapes. As it contains no alloys, it is easy to cut.
In addition, it is not toxic, odourless or harmful to health due to its composition.
A highly insulating and resistant fibreglass material
Made from high-quality, rot-proof glass fibre, this technical felt is distinguished by its resistance to high temperatures. It also offers :
- good thermal insulation ;
- good sound absorption:
- high stability, even in the case of significant variations in temperature or humidity, for example;
- very low moisture absorption ;
- high filtration speed;
- excellent mechanical strength ;
- good tensile strength.
Glass needle felt also reduces vibrations and does not emit odours when exposed to high temperatures. It is resistant to corrosion, so can be used to protect against intoxication of workers exposed to chemicals, for example. It is a highly effective textile for use in high-temperature environments, particularly in the industrial sector.
